Seems like the Texas guys keep me busy! I flew a Zenith 601 from Texas to Colorado after a spar AD was done. This was a windy trip to say the least; 40mph most the trip but I have to admit this little plane lands really well in the high winds. The place I took it was Laveta, Colorado and the guy I met there was a veterinarian named Larry Moore. He and his wife were great people and their home in the mountains was beautiful. Larry took me all over the area the next day because I was grounded due to the weather and I got to see all kinds of cool animals and a super wild looking building — took a pic below. Sure is fun to work when you get to meet really cool people; Larry’s wife even cooked me Elk sausage for breakfast!
